Eating Local in Somerville

Published 4 months ago

A new documentary produced by SCAT Executive Director Wendy Blom called Eating Local in Somerville looks at all the ways Somerville residents take advantage of Massachusetts farms and backyard gardens. The benefits of the local food movement are both personal and political. Local food is fresher, tastier, and healthier for consumers, and it is better for the environment of the city, the country, and the world.

Wendy, Wow. You are doing some great work, meaningful communications and community encouragement. While, at the same time, you are a broadcasting executive. How paradoxical. I spent just over 30 years at mostly network owned stations and owned a production company in Los Angeles. Never really got to know a broadcast manager like you. Didn't think one existed. There you are. Take care and be well and keep up the fine work. Cliff 512.971.9556

What a terrific film! Makes me miss all my summer farmers' market friends. You have captured the joy of buying and eating local so well. Thanks :)
