4 years ago by somerville community access

Art@SCAT and The SCAT Gallery welcomes Somerville artist, Candy Witcher in November. Candy Witcher grew up with a mom-painter, who encouraged Candy’s development as a visual artist. While other kids were visiting art museums, Candy was studying oil painting. At the University of New Hampshire, Candy traded paint brushes for pencil, charcoal, pastels, pen, and ink. She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Drawing, earning her the distinction of being the University’s first Drawing major. Candy Witcher works in watercolors, pastels and pencil. Her paintings, drawings, and pastels are included in private collections and exhibited in local and national shows. In addition, Ms Witcher teaches watercolor and drawing classes at the Somerville Home and the Somerville Adult Center for Learning & Education. Candy Witcher’s Art@SCAT interview with program host Janet Cormier, can be seen by Somerville residents on Tuesday evening at 7:00 PM on Channel 3. Non residents can view the interview on line at www.access-scat.org. Artists interested in exhibiting in The SCAT Gallery and appearing on Art@SCAT should contact Janet Cormier at tenajol5@yahoo.com.
